The route so far
It all started with a basic launcher app that we did for our friends at AJP. We kept developing it for our own personal use and in 2019 DMD² became a comercial app available in the Play Store.
The DMD app evolved into a full navigation eco system. DMD Navigation became a brand for navigation hardware and software development.
A basic DMD Launcher is born, developed as a gift for our friends at AJP Motorcycles to use on the PR7 model. The app would keep being developed for our own personal use.
Thork Racing is born, initially only selling accessories for AJP motorcycles.
First comercial version of DMD is released to the Google Play Store. An evolution of the original version.
Thork Racing expands and starts selling and representing some very well known brands like Klim, Kriega and Barkbusters.
DMD app becomes DMD², an even more evolved app, featuring a dashboard, map and roadbook.
Thork Racing starts selling navigation products - working with other hardware brands for devices and remote controllers.
DMD Navigation starts developing its own devices and accessories and becomes a complete navigation brand.
The first DMD device (T865) is released. Shortly after, the DMD Remote 1 and the T665 are released too.
Growth demanded space — a new building is constructed together with CORCET S.A. The full story is just below.
In 2026, DMD Navigation LDA is established as a legal entity to better manage and grow the business. Thork Racing becomes only a name for the online shop which is operated by DMD Navigation LDA.
2023 to 2025
It started as a small for-fun project between two friends, César Teixeira and João Pereira, who initially just wanted an excuse to work together.
César and his brother, Augusto Teixeira, were already running a 35 year old family business - CORCET S.A., and now, together with João (the DMD developer) they had to find room for the two companies.
Taking in consideration both CORCET S.A. needs and the unpredictable fast growth of DMD Navigation the decision was made to construct a new building.
The project was developed by the architect Nuno Melo Sousa, and from the start, the idea was to make it a non-conventional, warehouse-like building. It became an author work with a very unique aesthetic, a signature project.
With lots of left-over space which we can then adjust for the different needs - warehouse, production, support and development.
What we do
We develop software, not only the DMD² app but also other related apps, devices firmware and our web platforms.
We design and develop devices, not just navigation devices but also a series of navigation related accessories.
We built our reputation on the back of our support service. We are famous for being easy, fast and always available.
Through our Thork Racing online shop we sell both directly to the end customer and to DMD resellers all around the world.
The process
We develop new products based on our own ideas or because there was a request from our big community. Just like you, we ride, we ride motorcycles and 4x4, so we understand the navigation requirements and its easy for us to come up with new ideas for new products.
DMD manufacturers its products in more than 6 countries. We count with reliable manufacturers that respect our product designs and upheld the required quality. We never settle until we are sure the product meets the required quality and we are quick to act to make any improvement required on any of our products.
We are not just developers, we are first and foremost riders. We use our products daily and spend a lot of time in the field testing them... Its a tough job but someone has to do it! It is also during our team rides that the best ideas come to life!
We usually keep big stocks for all DMD products. Our products are sold directly through Thork Racing online shop and we also supply resellers all around the world. We are always growing our destribution network and we expect a top costumer support not only from our team but also from our resellers.
